I'm Rob. I teach Computer Games Design at Leeds City College. We've got a BTEC burbling happily away and we've just started running a degree.
I teach the 'theory' side of stuff. Which means I run away if people start talking about bitrates or vectors or polygon counts. I'm into mechanics and narrative design and theory of fun - that kind of thing.
I like Doctor Who, The Last of Us, wine, poetry and semiotic theory. I'm delighted to meet your virtual selves.
Thank you so much for joining! It's really great to have a tutor on board - it'd be great if you could share some of your wonderful wisdom with our members.
Huge congratulations on starting up a degree, and I'm glad things are going well with your BTEC course also. Do you think that this forum may be of interest to your students? And don't worry, even as an artist I tend to want to hide a little when I hear the words 'poly count' - I think it's a pretty natural response. Or at least that's what I tell myself to feel better about it.
Will definitely have to check out your blog, thank you so much for linking!
