Hey, how you doing?
I'm not a student no longer but Steph wanted me to give a little introduction
I graduated back in 2014 from Computer Games Design and Production in Newcastle. ( I am totally wishing there was something like this available whilst I was studying, because man is this a good idea! )
I managed to get a job with Sony Computer Entertainment in Liverpool as a Functional Tester and was able to feel a comfort with different hardware/ software and game genres. It did mean that I would be out of my comfort zone testing games that I wouldn't always necessarily play but gave me experience with them in doing so.
Whilst with Sony, I managed to work with Sumo Digital and Guerrilla Cambridge in their very own studios
I then got a secondment with Guerrilla Cambridge and moved my ass from Liverpool to Cambridge so start a new adventure. Little did I know I'd have such opportunities with so many creative and inspiring colleagues.Sadly Guerrilla Cambridge closed their office earlier this year after RIGS was released into the wild on PlayStation VR. You should check it out if you haven't already!
I'm now working with a company called Coatsink Software on a VR title called Augmented Empire. coatsink.com/games/augmented-empire/ < You should also check this out
I'm here to try and give advice and guide people to the right contacts who can help to progress their career and start kicking ass in the industry ! I'm super excited to see a wide range of talent and new ideas and look forward to everyone's portfolio's and questions
