My name’s Mike and I’m currently a Game Engine Developer at Jagex in Cambridge. (not a student, but i’m still trying to learn / study everything games!).
I graduated way back in 2012 after studying one of the multitude of Computer Science (it was actually called Software Development) courses that Teesside University were going through at the time.
My background wasn’t games to begin with, I did a placement year in the film industry (the kind of film that you put chicken + herb spices into the oven with), medical, then finally Games!
I’ve been at Jagex and the industry coming up four years working on RuneScape and Chronicle : RuneScape Legends.
I wish I had resources (or started my own (or looked harder)) like this when I was getting started. I try and attend as many events as I can and I’ve been lucky enough to represent at a graduate level and have answered many of the same questions, so I pulled together all the cool things that I think helped me and put them in one place www.linkedin.com/pulse/game-making-graduating-makers-michael-lojko .
I’m also pretty active on twitter michaellojko and I love games (seriously, I can talk all day about them (in any aspect (any.))).
